vCoffee Links Issue #4 – 5/19/2014

Ugh… Monday. But it was a great weekend. Missed posting vCoffee links last week. Just a lot going on and I have been tied up with a couple of projects. Plus the weather has finally warmed up, so I have been trying to spend some time away from the computer.

Took a trip to the Chrylser Museum in Norfolk, VA to see the Duck. Even got photo bombed by the duck while taking a selfie.

The Duck

Also took a walk around the Stockley Gardens Arts Festival. Had a great time and the weather could not have been better.

Now on to the links…

Michael Webster, @vcdxnz001, co-authored a new book on virtualizing SQL on VMware that is due to be released in August 2014 (and is available for pre-order now here Virtualizing SQL Server with VMware: Doing IT Right (VMware Press Technology)). Here is a great post from him that give a little insight into what we can expect from the book: Configuring Database Servers for Optimal Performance.

I am using the vSphere Web Client more and more. Can’t say that it is equal to the Windows vSphere Client, but if you want access to the new features available in vSphere 5.5, well you have to get use to change. Here is a nice article on some tips and tricks for using the new vSphere Web Client: Back To Basics: Using the vSphere Web Client – Tips, Tricks & Improvements

Enjoy your coffee. Have a great morning and a fantastic week!
